Lake Rabun is the site of numerous local events. One of the most treasured events here is the massive 4th of July celebration. For the 4th of July, Lake Rabun hosts a three-day event that includes fireworks, BBQ, live music, and even a wooden boat parade and golf tournament.

Nearby Lake Rabun is Tallulah Falls. This state park features a series of waterfalls cascading down into a 1,000-foot gorge that showcases the jaw-dropping beauty of Northeast Georgia. Tallulah Falls offers hiking and biking trails and fishing.

In Rabun County, the Moonrise Distillery has existed since the 1950s. They continue to use double distillation to make bourbon, rye, vodka, gin, and brandy. Their location has a front porch that is 80 feet long and covered with a view of Black Rock Mountain, which frequently holds live music events.
