Houghton's Pond is a 24-acre pond located in Norfolk County, in the town of Milton, Massachusetts. Boston is only 16 miles north, perfect for a day trip!

The pond is only 17 miles away from Boston Logan International Airport and less than 4 miles away from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Milton.

Houghton's Pond is located within the Blue Hills Reservation, a 7,000-acre state park with lots to do.

The most popular activity on the pond is swimming at the beach! During the summer months, many locals and visitors from out of town come here to cool off. Lifeguards are on site from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. every day in July and August.

Fishing is also popular here! The lake is stocked with trout every spring and is the most sought-after species. Other kinds of fish you will find here are bass, sunfish, carp, golden shiner, perch, pickerel, and more!

Life off of the Water

Blue Hills is also home to miles of trails for hiking, biking, and cross country skiing during the winter!

Make your way through these trails to the top of Great Blue Hill, a 635-foot summit that offers those that brave the climb a view across the Boston metro area!
